Jewish-Parenting.org was created by Rabbi Dovid Hochberg, MSW, LCSW-C, to help Jewish parents navigate through the often confusing, but always challenging world of parenting today. From toddlers to teenagers, Rabbi Hochberg and Jewish-Parenting.org will help you parent successfully and effectively. Welcome aboard.

Rabbi Dovid Hochberg is a licensed, clinical psychotherapist in private practice with extensive experience handling parenting challenges, couple and family relationship issues, and crisis intervention. He has authored parenting and relationship articles for local publications, National Council of Young Israel’s Viewpoint magazine, Aish Hatorah, and Torah.org, and has been featured on a Jewish radio program in Chicago. He served as the Principal of Derech Chaim Academy of Baltimore, an alternative school for Orthodox teens in crisis, from 1998 through 2002, and currently is the Director of the Maryland Counseling Network, a counseling center for the Baltimore Jewish community. Rabbi Hochberg is a Certified Instructor for the nationally acclaimed Torah Umesorah F.E.L.T. Parenting Course and conducts parenting groups in the Baltimore area. He also co-leads the Parent to Parent support group for parents of teens in conflict and is a frequent contributor to the M.A.S.K. email line. His expert, professional advice and parent coaching are sought after by parents from across the country.

Rabbi Hochberg received his Rabbinical Ordination from HaRav S. Yaakov Weinberg, zt”l, (Ner Israel - Baltimore) and his Masters of Social Work from the University of Maryland.

"A Closer Look" Newsletter

Jewish-parenting.org is fortunate to have Debbie Brown as the co-author of "A Closer Look," our monthly newsletter, that explores some of today’s parenting challenges.

Debbie has been parenting a struggling adolescent for over four years. She brings the invaluable perspective of a parent who has successfully applied the tools and skills taught to her by her therapist, teacher and spiritual mentor, Rabbi Shimon Russell, LCSW. She has learned that coping with a struggling teen is an opportunity for one’s self-development and her approach is one of compassion, hope, and personal growth.

Debbie has brought and continues to bring her message to many parents through newspaper and magazine articles as well as inspirational speaking engagements. She devotes her time to helping parents through phone communication and is a frequent contributor to the MASK email support line dedicated to struggling parents. In line with her training and experience, Debbie has begun a service of parent coaching in order to help parents who are having difficulty in grasping the tools necessary to cope with their daily challenges.

Debbie is currently pursuing a professional career in psychotherapy.
